  2. Get 3 Chopped onion
  3. Make ready 3 Chopped tomatoes

  7. Prepare 1 tsp turmeric powder

Butter chicken originated from using leftover dry tandoori chicken and giving it moisture with a creamy spiced tomato sauce — plus some butter, and we have butter chicken. Steps to make Butter chicken:
  1. For marination:- take a bowl add chicken, 1tbsp dahi, 1 tbsp red chilli powder, 1 tbsp salt, half tbsp turmeric.
  2. Mix it well..cover it and keep it aside.
  3. Now turn on the flame, heat a pan and add oil.
  4. Now add chopped onion and tomatoes.
  5. Fry it on medium flame.
  6. Now add cashews..fry it for 5-10 minutes till it softens.
  7. Now turn off the flame and take it out in a blending jar.
  8. Let it cool down a bit..and blend it into a smooth paste.
  9. Now turn on the flame, and add oil.
  10. Once the oil is heated, put the marinated chicken.
  11. Fry the chicken on medium flame for 8-10 minutes.
  12. Keep fliping the sides of the chicken pieces to cook it from all the sides.
  13. Check the chicken..if properly cooked turn off the flame..and keep it aside.
  14. Now turn on the flame,heat a pan, add oil and 1/2 cube of butter.
  15. Now add 1 tbsp red chilli powder and 1 tbsp tomato ketchup.
  16. Mix it..and fry for a minute.
  17. Now pour the blended mixture..mix it well.
  18. Cover the pan with lid cook it on a medium flame for a minute.
  19. Open the lid and stir it.
  20. Add 1 cup of dahi..mix it..
  21. Now Add 1 glass of water and stir it.
  22. Increase the flame to high cover the pan and let it come to boil.
  23. Open the lid and stir it.
  24. Add the fried chicken in the gravy.
  25. Add salt…stir it.
  26. Cover the pan and cook it for 5-10 minutes on medium flame.
  27. Keep stiring in between.
  28. If it is properly cooked turn off the flame and 1 cube of butter.
  29. Serve it..
