The ingredients needed to make Dahi fish:
  1. Prepare 500 gm rohu fish
  2. Prepare 1/4 cup fresh curd
  3. Take 1 medium sized onion
  4. Take 1 small ginger piece
  5. Take 4-5 garlic cloves
  6. Get 2-3 green chillies
  7. Prepare 1 bay leaf
  8. Take 1 red dry chilli
  9. Prepare 1-2 green cardamom
  10. Make ready 1-2 cloves
  11. Make ready 1 small cinnamon stick
  12. Make ready 2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. Get 1 tsp coriander powder
  14. Take 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  15. Prepare 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  16. Get 1/2 tsp sugar
  17. Make ready 1/2 tsp garam masala
  18. Prepare 1 tsp ghee
  19. Take to taste Salt according
  20. Prepare as needed Oil (better to use mastard oil)

Add maida in fish pieces and mix well. How to Make Dahi Mach (Fish with Curds). Grind the onion and ginger together. Heat oil in a kadai and saute the cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and the bay.

Steps to make Dahi fish:
  1. Beat the curd and keep aside. In a blender add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies and make a smooth paste, keep aside.
  2. Marinate the fish pieces with 1 tsp turmeric powder and salt and keep for 5 minutes. Now fry them in mastard oil and keep aside.
  3. Heat the pan. Add 1 tsp ghee and 1-2 tsp oil. Add bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, red dry chilli and saute for 1 sec. Now add onion-ginger-garlic-chilli paste and saute for few minutes. Add corinder, cumin, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and saute for few seconds. Sprinkle some water so that masala don't get burnt. Now add curd and mix well. Add 1/4 cup water and cover with lid for few minutes or unit oil is separated. Now add the fried fishes and mix well.
  4. Add little water if required. Add sugar and keep on low flame for few minutes. Switch of the flame, add garam masala.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve with steam rice or pulao.
