Steps to make Pepper Jack Mac & Cheese:
- To begin, take a large pot, filling it half way with water and bring to a boil. Pour your macaroni noodles along with 2 tbsp of oil and a few pinches of salt and let cook for 7 minutes. Once finished, remove from boiling water and rinse under cold water to stop them from cooking and set aside.
- Next, take a large bowl and shred your 3 blocks of cheese together. Preheat your oven to 425Ā°.
- After you're done with shredding the cheese, now you can start your sauce. Take a small pot and and your butter and melt it over medium heat, then add your flour and wish together until bubbly. Then whisk in your milk until it's all gone. Continue to whisk together until sauce begins to thicken. Whisk in some of the shredded cheese for added flavor and thickness. Lower heat to low once sauce is at desired thickness and add in Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder and Onion Powder to taste.
- Put your macaroni back in your big pot that you used to boil the noodles and add your seasoned cheese sauce to the noodles. Now mix the sauce and noodles together until well mixed. Take a pan or dish built for the oven and layer macaroni, cheese, macaroni, cheese and repeat until all ingredients are gone. Place in the oven for 35 minutes covered. Remove cover the last 10 minutes and let the top brown.
