- Make ready 2 (10 oz) cans Rotel fire roasted tomatoes drained
- Prepare 1 can Hunt's tomato sauce
- Prepare 2 (27 oz) cans Bush's Chili Beans rinsed

- Prepare 1 large yellow onion chopped
- Make ready 1 green bell pepper chopped
- Make ready 1 red bell pepper chopped
- Prepare 1 large jalapeno pepper chopped
- Get 6 cloves garlic chopped
- Get 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- Prepare 2 beef bouillon cubes
- Make ready 4 bay leaves
- Get 1 Tblsp garlic salt plus extra
- Make ready 1/2 tsp black pepper plus extra
- Take 1 Tblsp chile powder
- Prepare 1 Tblsp ground cumin
- Get 1 Tblsp oregano
- Prepare Juice of half a lime
- Get A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
- Make ready 1 squirt of ketchup
- Get 1 squirt of Hershey's chocolate syrup
- Prepare 1 (8 quart) chili pot
The best homemade chili with beans, or comfort food at its best. Low-carb, high in protein, this chili is healthy, delicious and nutritious. This delightful Mexican-inspired chili con carne is the most delicious dinner you can have with your family. This homemade chili is hearty and meaty, and is very quick to make.
Steps to make My Homemade Chili:
- Saute the onion, bell peppers, jalapeno pepper and garlic with some olive oil in a small pan just until they sweat then dump into a bowl and set aside
- Start browning the sirloin steak chunks and the ground beef in the chili pot, add some garlic salt and pepper and cook until you think it is good and browned
- Drain the grease from the meat and return to the pot then add the sweated peppers, onions and garlic with the meat mixture and stir well
- Start adding your canned tomatoes and sauce and give it a stir
- Next add the chipotle, beef bouillon, bay leaves, garlic salt, black pepper, chile powder, cumin, oregano, lime juice and give it a big stir to combine and bring it all to a boil then to a low simmer for 30 minutes stirring once in a while
- Then add your 2 cans of chili beans and the Worcestershire, ketchup and chocolate syrup then stir well to combine and cook for an additional 30 minutes giving a stir once in a while

Footnotes Cook's Notes: I usually use a combination of beans like kidney and black or kidney and garbanzo. I usually use dried beans and cook them in my pressure cooker. Homemade chili seasoning can be a great addition as well. In a medium-sized bowl mix the tomato paste, water, seasonings, salt, and pepper, and set aside. Add the onion and grape tomatoes to the pan.
