Extra-virgin olive oil, for the pan Spaghetti bolognese (sometimes called spaghetti alla bolognese, or colloquially 'spag bol' [UK & Australia], spaghetti with meat sauce, or just spaghetti) is a pasta dish that is popular outside Italy (such as in other parts of Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific), but not part of traditional Bolognese or even Italian cuisine. The dish is generally perceived as inauthentic when encountered. This extremely hearty sauce has a secret ingredient. (Not so much, now!!) This sauce clings to pasta, unlike many others that leave a puddle of juice on the bottom of your plate when you are done. Follow this easy recipe to make the traditional Italian meat sauce the proper way, and serve with spaghetti, grated parmesan cheese and perhaps a slice or two of garlic bread.
