Instructions to make Onam Vibhavangal-Kalan:
  1. Grind the coconut with the green chillies,garlic,jeerakam and turmeric powder.
  2. Mix the coconut gravy with the curd and add salt to taste and keep aside
  3. Now cook the banana pieces in one cup water with salt, little turmeric powder and half the chopped ginger pieces added into it.
  4. When it is cooked soft,add the curd prepared as above and continue stirring in slow fire till it is pretty hot. Take off from the stove before it starts boiling and continue stirring for a few more minutes (Curd should never be over heated)
  5. Heat oil in a pan.Splutter the mustard seeds followed by the uluva(fenugreek) and then saute the chopped onions,ginger,curry leaves and the dry red chilly. Add this to the banana curd curry. The kalan with mouth watering flavour and taste is ready.
