- Prepare 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Take 3/4 cup yogurt

- Prepare 3 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
Labneh (strained yogurt) Fresh tomatoes, sliced. The first time I tried the za'atar man'ouche was in a Lebanese restaurant in Brussels. Steps to make Zaater bread:
- Mix flour with baking powder with fork then start adding the yogurt with one spoon at time and mix
- When you start seeing the dough come together put on the counter and start kneading the dough no sticking on you hands or the counter at least 5 minutes
- Cut the dough to 5 balls or less let it rest for 10 minutes
- In this time mix the zaater with oil
- Flat the balls and scoop one spoon of zaater and spread it over cook it on reheated oven on 500 f for 5 minutes or less just keep watching enjoy 😉
Some za'atar blends will have cumin or oregano in it as well. For its minimal ingredients, za'atar has a massive flavour to it, which is slightly salty, and slightly crunchy thanks to the sesame seeds. Mix the zaatar and olive oil in a bowl and set aside. I'll take any excuse to make something bread-y that I can dunk into a smooth velvety hummus. I'll also take any excuse to smother za'atar and olive oil over flatbread.
