  2. Make ready 3 cups Wheat flour (aata)

  8. Take 1 1/2 cup Flour of roasted Bengal gram(sattu)
  9. Take 5-6 Onion finely chopped
  10. Take 1 tbsp Garlic finely chopped
  11. Take 3-4 tsp Green chillies finely chopped
  12. Make ready 4-5 tbsp Coriander leaves
  13. Make ready 1/4 tsp Onion seeds(kalaungi)
  14. Prepare 2 tsp Carom seeds
  15. Make ready 1 Lemon's juice
  16. Make ready 1 tbsp Pickle masala (aachar ka masala)
  17. Make ready 1 tsp Roasted cumin seeds powder

Litti Chokha is a traditional dish that has its origin from the state of Bihar in India. Whole wheat dough balls are filled with sattu, a flour made from roasted bengal gram and eaten with chokha, a spicy. Litti Chokha is a traditional dish eaten mainly in Bihar and Jharkhad. It can be had for lunch, dinner or you can make it on your holidays and you will surely love it.

Steps to make Litti chokha:

  2. Mix wheat flour, carom, salt and vegetable oil.
  3. Add water and make stiff dough.
  4. Divide the dough into 10 equal parts. Filling
  5. Take roasted gram flour in a bowl, add onion, garlic, green chillies, coriander leaves, onion seeds, carom seeds, pickle masala, cumin seeds powder and salt into it.
  6. Then add lemon juice and little water and mix it.
  7. Ensure that the mixture is powdery but samp.
  8. It should not be too dry or too wet.

  10. Take one part of the dough and make into a ball.
  11. Now hold it between your fingers and press with your thumbs to make it like a bowl.
  12. Now fill it with stuffing and bring the edges together and seal it and make balls.
  13. Now repeat the process and make all litti.
  14. Traditionally it is roasted in charcoal heat.
  15. It can also be prepared gas tandoor or electric tandoor.
  16. Put all the litti balls in preheated grill and roast in medium heat for 20-25 minutes.
    1. Keep on turning the litti balls and roast them evenly and are crisp.
  17. Once properly roasted, take the litti from the grill and apply little pressure to make an opening and put each litti inside the ghee.
  18. Leave this dipped in clarified butter for 10-15 minutes before serving Note–U can also make this littis in air fryer
