Heat a small skillet on medium-low flame Heat oil in the pressure cooker over medium heat, add the chicken, turmeric powder,salt and red chilli powder. Steps to make Karnataka style chicken fry:
- First for chicken fry masala powder - Take a pan, add coriander seeds, dry red chilli, cinnamon stick and black peppercorns. Roast it for about 2-3 minutes. Cool down and grind it into a mixer grinder and make a fine powder. Chicken fry masala powder is ready.
- Now take chicken pieces and add chicken masala powder and lemon juice into this. Mix well. Cover and keep aside for about 15 minutes.
- Now take a pan, add 2 tsp oil. When oil is getting hot add cumin seeds, bay leaf, black cardamom, black peppercorns, cloves and cinnamon stick. Then add chopped onion. Saute it for 2 minutes. Then add marinate chicken. Cook it for about 2 minutes. Then add ginger garlic and green chilli paste. Mix well. After 2 minutes add chicken fry masala powder. And cook again for about 4-5 minutes.
- Now add finely chopped tomatoes and cook until oil starts to separate. Add salt as per taste. Mix well. Karnataka style Chicken fry masala is ready. Serve hot with chapatis.
