  7. Take 1 tsp cardamom powder
  8. Take 1/2 cup water
  9. Prepare 1/2 tsp baking soda
  10. Get 4-5 tbsp Ghee/Clarified butter

Simple and easy unniyappam made with rice jaggery and wheat flour. Kerala Easy Unniyappam is a delicious round rice snack, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Prepared from rice flour, banana, jaggery syrup and other ingredients Kerala Easy Unniyappam is a favorite snack usually served as 'prasadam' too. In Malayalam 'unni' denotes small and 'appam' denotes rice cake.

Steps to make Easy Unniyappam:
  1. Heat the jaggery in some water till it forms a syrup.Keep the syrup aside to cool.
  2. Now mix rest of the ingredients except ghee to form a medium thick batter.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan.
  4. Spoon the batter using a teaspoon and drop in hot ghee/oil.(should be medium sized round shape)
  5. Toss in the ghee until all sides turn lightly brown in color.
  6. Make sure oil is on medium high flame and not too high!
  7. You can fry upto 4 unniypapams in a medium sized pan, at a time.
