- Bake 12-15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
- For strawberry shortcake: Split biscuit, add mascerbated strawberries with syrup on bottom biscuit. Add whipped cream then biscuit top.
Gradually stir in milk until a soft dough forms. Place scones in bowl and cover with cloth (keeps them moist and warm for serving). Scones can also be served the day after baking- just keep them in an air tight container. For strawberry shortcakes, cut one or two scones in half, top bottom half of scone with strawberries, juice, and whipped cream, then place the other half on top. Shortcakes, in the biscuit/scone category of "bakes" (so help me, I've fallen into a GBBO rabbit hole and I never want to leave), are quick things, or they should be.
