  1. Take 1 tsp Instant Coffee Powder
  2. Prepare 2-3 tbsp Sugar
  3. Prepare 150 ml Water
  4. Prepare 1 tbsp Agar Agar dry flakes
  5. Get Whipped Cream as required
  6. Make ready 5-6 Mint Leaves

Whisk the condensed milk and heavy cream together before pouring on top of jelly cubes. Coffee Jelly (コーヒーゼリー) is a refreshing Japanese dessert which is popular in Japan as well as in some other Asian countries. It's usually made of black coffee, gelatin powder, and sugar, but today I used agar agar powder instead of gelatin to make it vegetarian friendly. Mix coffee, sugar, and the gelatin in a sauce pan.

Steps to make Japanese Coffee Jelly:
  1. In a small saucepan, combine water and agar agar powder and whisk over high heat. Once it starts to boil, turn down the heat to simmer. Add sugar and instant coffee and cook stirring occasionally for 2 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Pour into serving dishes. Scoop up any bubbles on the surface with a spoon and discard. Once the coffee jelly cools down, cover with plastic wrap and keep in the refrigerator for 4-5 hours.
  3. Serve with whipped cream, mint and a coffee bean on top. Refrigerate it until done depending upon the temperature at your place. It took almost 2.5 hours to set at our place of residence.

Stir well on low heat until sugar dissolves. Strain the mixture and pour into four cups. Put some whipped cream on top of the jelly before serving. Japanese coffee jelly now with two layers of yummy treat! You'll still get the coffee-flavored gelatin but with pannacotta at the bottom.
