Instructions to make Cabbage bhorta:
  1. Cut the cabbage in thin slices. Wash them and transfer into a colander. Now heat a pan and pour the cabbage. Don’t add oil or water. Just sprinkle salt and put the lid on. Boil them in medium flame.
  2. In another pan add some mustard oil. Now add dried chilli, garlic and onion. Fry them for 10 minutes in medium to low flame. Now in the same pan add the tomato. Smash the tomato and try to cook until it’s slightly burnt.
  3. Now check the cabbage if they are boiled. Don’t over cook the cabbage. Now take a bowl. First mix the red chilli, onion & garlic. Mix them very well. Then add fresh coriander and little bit of mustard oil. Now add the cabbage. Mix them again. At last add the tomato and give it a good mix. I served with plain rice. It will go with roti or tortillas as well.

This vegetable is a must for those dieters who are trying to loose weight like me. It is also good for skin. Then grind it with some green chillies and keep aside. In a pan, heat mustard oil. Then add slitted green chilli with a pinch of kalojire / kalonji seeds.
