- Take Dry roast and grind
- Make ready 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Get 3 tsp Coriander seeds
Discard the black stamen and paper like kaalan. Keep the cleaned flower immersed in water or diluted buttermilk to avoid banana flower turning black. In a pressure cooker, heat coconut oil. Splutter mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
Instructions to make Banana Flower Rice:
- Clean the Banana blossom and chop finely. Put this in buttermilk until cooking.

Heat oil in pan add all the ingredients under "To Temper" one by one. Once the dals turns golden colour add the chopped onion, green chilli and ginger. Add salt.
- Saute the onion until turns glass stage add cooked tuvar dal and saute a bit.
Now add shredded coconut and banana flower. Stir carefully and turns the flame to sim.
Now add the cumin coriander powder and saute a bit. Now add the rice and adjust the salt.
Before turning off the flame garnish with lemon juice and coriander leaves. Mix a bit. Serve hot.
