When the mustard seed splutters, add in turmeric powder, asafoetida and curry leaves. To make vazhaipoo vadai, you will need cleaned and chopped banana flower. - Clean banana flower and soak them in butter milk for 15 minutes and chop it finely as much as possible and keep aside.

Now soak dal in warm water for 15 minutes and grind to crumble stage.

Heat kadai in medium flame add a tsp of oil once hot add crumbled dal fry till it become crispy. Keep this aside.

- Heat another tsp of oil in same kadai add mustard, Chopped onion, green chilli and ginger. Saute nicely.

Now add chopped banana flower, salt and turmeric powder. Cover and cook in medium flame.

When done add roasted toor dal and saute couple of minutes.
